Acacia wood has a deep rich heartwood, while the outer growth wood is very light in color. This piece takes advantage of both. The contrast between the two colors was enhanced for striking variation. The reptile shape undulates with the bowl in a manner that creates voids between the two, thus at the same time being separate and together. The turquoise inlays subtlety enhance the beauty of the overall piece.
