This single piece of juniper wood takes advantage of the contrast between the darker heartwood, and light outer growth wood. Finish contrast was used to enhance the distinction between the polished growth wood representing the reptile, and rusticated heartwood vessel.  This piece represents one of my first "snake" creations.
